(Happy) Birthday.
I'm only 23 for,
Another day at the most.
I'm feeling crazy.
And I think that,
You need to clear the coast.
I've spent 2 years,
Dancing.
To the tunes she used to play.
Now it's my turn,
It's my chance.
To live it my own way.
So why don't you take me,
On a ride through wonderland.
Why won't you lend,
Lend me a hand?
I wanna go.
Get this out of my system.
Before I get old,
Too old for this.
I wanna go.
Explore your mystery,
I think I'm old,
Just old enough.
You've heard all my stories,
Of days long ago.
I've told you my secrets,
There's little,
That I think you don't know.
It's only fair that,
You show me.
The world I want to see.
And I promise,
You'll be happy.
As long as you're with me.
So come let me take you,
On a trip through wonderland.
All you need to do,
Is hold my hand.
So we can go,
Get this out of our system.
Before we get old,
Older than this.
I'm sure we can go,
Explore this mystery.
I think we're old,
Or just old enough.
Another day at the most.
I'm feeling crazy.
And I think that,
You need to clear the coast.
I've spent 2 years,
Dancing.
To the tunes she used to play.
Now it's my turn,

The City (Incomplete)
The young and the old,
Hide in their homes.
They peek from the window,
Like Nero watched Rome.
Huddled together,
They're perfectly alone.
But this town has no Caesar nor savior.
The Godmen and saints,
Barter in hope.
At least they sell,
The right length of rope.
To hang our sorrows,
Or to happily choke.
When we run out of places to believe in.
The ghost of the past,
Is awakened everyday.
For words of comfort,
Provided we pay.
We listen to nothing,
That they all have to say.
But it's all just pointless knowledge.
The cry of a little girl,
Is drowned by pelted stones.
The name's of the innocent,
Burned with their bones.
She's killed in the street,
After being used by her own.
Their smile isn't laughter, it's madness.
The child under the bridge,
Holds a baby in her hands.
Her mother in the street,
Trying to understand.
Father and brother,
Lost to the land.
That is the story of this city.
Hide in their homes.
They peek from the window,
Like Nero watched Rome.
Huddled together,
They're perfectly alone.
But this town has no Caesar nor savior.
The Godmen and saints,
Barter in hope.
At least they sell,

Self Appraisal.
Look at me,
I'm an ordinary man.
Doing something,
That anybody can.
Weaving words,
And hoping to find a way.
To get people to read,
And think of what I say.
We're no different,
You and me.
Or that vagabond,
Walking down the street.
A billion people,
A billion different dreams.
Living within,
And way beyond our means.
What sets me apart,
Is the choices that I make.
The risks that I,
Will or will not take.
The sweet love,
That someone will soon know.
The broken heart,
And the words that follow.
We all bleed red,
If you cut any color of skin.
We're all the same,
What we are, lies within.
But tell me this,
Are you like me or am I like you?
What's different,
In the things that we do?
If we're all the same,
Then why should I even try.
Like we all live,
Some day we will soon die.
We walk alone,
But we never truly are.
You may feel bad,
But others have seen worse by far.
So stop thinking,
That you stand above the rest.
They're all trying,
It's all an imaginary test.
So step back,
From the varied silent crowd.
Hear my voice,
It may not be that loud.
What I say,
Applies to everyone.
Have some patience,
Your time has just begun.
Look at you,
You're an ordinary man.
Someone else is the same,
You're not the only one who can.
Look at me,
I'm an ordinary man.

Red Carnations and Gin.
I love you now,
It's all that should matter.
Every moment together,
We'll remember somehow.
You know there's something about us,
That no one can see.
And though we may wish it,
We soon will not be.
So I'll raise a toast to our fighting,
And a drink to our laughs.
I'll cheer for our crying,
And I'll dream of our start.
So let me touch a glass,
To your peace of mind.
After me.
You're stronger now,
You will know that so soon.
And soon you'll meet someone,
Who sends you over the moon.
Like you made me feel,
Everyday I held to you.
That's when you will know,
This was the right thing to do.
So I'll raise a toast to our fighting,
And a drink to our laughs.
I'll cheer for our crying,
And I'll dream of our start.
So let me touch a glass,
To your peace of mind.
After me.
It's been years too long,
You've moved on much better.
And now I feel sad,
When we could have had each other.
The greatest regrets,
Are the last to come straight.
When I let you go,
It was my greatest mistake.
But now you're so happy,
And I feel the same.
Though we're not together,
I'm glad that you're content and safe.
So I'll raise a toast to our fighting,
And a drink to our laughs.
I'll cheer for our crying,
And I'll dream of our start.
So let me touch a glass,
To your peace of mind.
After me.

I am free.
It's a crazy thing to see,
The people who only agree.
The shepherds nod is all that they need,
Following is just their breed.
It's such a fleeting thing to me,
This life and all that I can see.
The confusion and all the greed.
Discounted lives to live indeed.
Obey the law,
Learn to drive.
Close your jaw,
Support the hive.
Act normal,
Get a family.
Now repeat after me,
I am free, Oh I am free.
There's people thinking,
In a different stream.
They feel they can leave,
And build a dream.
But the when the herd follows,
They will understand.
The shepherd came with them,
To their greener land.
Obey the law,
Learn to drive.
Close your jaw,
Support the hive.
Act normal,
Get a family.
Now repeat after me,
I am free, Oh I am free.
It's such a weary illusion,
All that we receive.
I have free will today,
That's what I'd like to believe.
Am I just another sheep within,
The strings are bound tightly.
Some choose to listen,
Unlike me, I try to break free.
Obey the law,
Learn to drive.
Close your jaw,
Support the hive.
Follow fashion,
Act normal,
Get a family.
Now repeat after me,
I am free, Oh I am free.
I'll grow another world just for me,
Live by myself and feel free.
A place to visit where peace can be,
I'm already there and here I don't bleed.
Now repeat after me,
I am free, Oh I am free.
I am free, Oh I am free.
The people who only agree.
The shepherds nod is all that they need,

Gaia
The soil it is wet,
And the floor is dry.
A sheltered empty home,
For rain we did cry.
Trains keep rumbling,
As the time goes by.
Shaking the leaves,
As dust rises high.
Could have spared me some sorrow,
I gave her more than that.
Sold her to the man,
With the suit and the hat.
Someone was helping,
Another man drown.
No witnesses came,
Got away with the crown.
In an empty alley,
The deal was going down.
Sharing the wealth,
Of what was once a green gown.
I did it all myself,
I know at least that.
I sold her to the man,
With the suit and the hat.
What's done is done,
Is what they all say.
Then why do they hide,
When the sky goes grey.
I have no regrets,
Be that as it may.
But don't come crying,
When she hits back one day.
I could have saved her you know,
I owe her just that.
But I sold her to the man,
In the suit and the hat.
And the floor is dry.
A sheltered empty home,
For rain we did cry.

The Book of Life
I turn back to the pages,
Of my youth and wonder.
Look back on the days,
That have gone by.
Let a ready man read,
While the book is in my hand.
Let him take a stand.
I wish to see,
My younger days.
Spent in rain,
And sunshine rays.
When the melody was sweet,
Like the smell of my old street.
Reminded me of days of lost wonder,
The book of my life,
And the writings of leisure.
The movie plays in the land of the blind.
Now pause and please rewind.
Give me back my naiveté,
I wish to learn again.
My ship is drifting,
Without a sail.
Let the child inside me live,
While I can make a stand.
Lend me a hand.
I want to learn,
From my mistakes.
Learn to give,
And when to take.
When to rise up above,
From the sound on that playground.
Reminded me of days of lost wonder,
The book of my life,
And the writings of leisure.
The movie plays in the land of the blind.
Now pause and please rewind.
Remember days of paper ships,
Like dreams that float and flip.
A time of boundless love,
Beyond the sky up above.
Chasing cars down the street,
And happy sounds of growing feet.
Reminded me of days of lost wonder,
The book of my life,
And the writings of leisure.
The movie plays in the land of the blind.

Here comes the Shadow.
When war and peace,
Is left to the lord.
And everyone's God,
Is Evil.
Businessmen and lawyers,
Lead the common man.
Where money,
Is the way of speaking.
Leaders and robbers,
Walk hand in hand.
When crime,
Is always paying.
The suit and the chains,
Together align.
And the jail cells,
Are overflowing.
Here comes the shadow,
That we made with our hands,
The sun will soon be fading.
Here comes the shadow,
To cleanse our land,
The time has come for repenting.
We scream in silence,
And whisper in crowds.
Knowledge gained,
From overhearing.
Teacher and preacher,
Guide all to abhor.
And nature itself,
Is weeping.
All that we have,
Is not what we adore.
The world itself,
Seems lacking.
The love that we send,
In a life that will end.
So many lessons,
Are left for learning.
Here comes the shadow,
That we made with our hands,
The sun will soon be fading.
Here comes the shadow,
To cleanse our land,
The time has come for repenting.
Generation of waste,
And life of excess.
And somewhere,
A child is crying.
All that we spend,
And yet we want more.
Deep inside,
We're dying.
Life is to live,
Not meant to destroy.
What was made,
We will be losing.
A new day will dawn,
For our daughters and sons.
A new chance,
For some repairing.
Here comes the shadow,
That we made with our hands,
The sun will soon be fading.
Here comes the shadow,
To cleanse our land,
The time has come for repenting.

Keep to the Left.
To,
Ashu.
I imagine if I had written this then, you would have been singing it to me that night. It was so long ago, but I still remember the day you saved my life. If you hadn't been there then, I would probably not be here now. That was the day I fell in love with you.
Every time now, when He re-appears, all I look for is your voice calling me back, singing this song. It reminds me that I'm stronger than Him, it brings me back.
Thanks for everything,
My Love.
---------------Keep to the Left---------------
From the highway tonight,
My Love.
Don't let these fears,
Decide your years,
Don't make my tears,
In vain.
There are so many,
More days left,
My Love.
Don't let your chance,
Be our last dance,
Don't make our love,
End in pain.
If you wish to drive on,
Its okay my love.
Just look back once,
And you'll see a light on,
For a place you can,
Come back to.
How many more ways,
Do I show you,
My Love.
Give me a chance to know you,
I won't let you,
Throw yourself away.
Don't go to that highway,
Tonight my love.
We can make tomorrow,
A better day.
Your home is in,
My arms today.

Madman.
There's a man by my window,
Said he wanted the world.
I thought that he was crazy,
And I might have misheard.
He said was willing,
To pay any price.
As long as he saw,
Every ray of sunrise.
Oh who am I to tell him,
That it cannot be done.
After all I have taken,
And all I have won.
Maybe he's crazy,
But I think he has a plan,
I'm beginning to wonder,
Which one is the Madman.
So I walked down the hallway,
And made for my car.
The man said he wanted,
A piece of a star.
I thought maybe this time,
He must surely be mad.
But he asked what he wanted,
So he wont be so sad.
Oh who am I to tell him,
That it cannot be done.
After all I have taken,
And all I have won.
Maybe he's crazy,
But I think he has a plan,
I'm beginning to wonder,
Which one is the Madman.
So I turned the key,
And I drove down the road.
The night she was biting,
Freezing and cold.
And the man sat beside me,
I didn't believe my eyes.
This time he told me,
He wanted the skies.
Oh who am I to tell him,
That it cannot be done.
After all I have taken,
And all I have won.
Maybe he's crazy,

Rum N' Coke.
Oh, I was walking in circles,
All way round the clock.
I never sang when lonely,
Oh I would rarely talk.
The rainman walked up to me,
Said he had something to tell.
He said he'd heard about me,
He said he knew me well.
Oh, he handed me a bottle,
As slowly as he spoke.
He mixed it up with something,
And he called it Rum n Coke.
So someone hand me this way,
My last and final smoke.
And bring me two long glasses,
For my daily Rum n Coke.
My last and final smoke.
And bring me two long glasses,
For my daily Rum n Coke.
I went back to the rain main,
And he gave me two medicine.
One was dark as timber,
The other some country gin.
Like a fool I mixed them,
And it strangled up my mind.
And now people just get hazy,
And I have no sense of time.
One was dark as timber,
The other some country gin.
Like a fool I mixed them,
And it strangled up my mind.
And now people just get hazy,
And I have no sense of time.
Oh, he handed me a bottle,
As slowly as he spoke.

And he called it Rum n Coke.
So someone hand me this way,

And bring me two long glasses,
For my daily Rum n Coke.
My last and final smoke.
And bring me two long glasses,
For my daily Rum n Coke.
The world was spinning under,
And I could barely stand.
That when I wondered,
What I held in my hand.
The Rain Man's darkened cures,
And what he said was fine.
I should have paid attention,
But it tasted so divine.
Oh, he handed me a bottle,
As slowly as he spoke.
He mixed it up with something,
And he called it Rum n Coke.
So someone hand me this way,
My last and final smoke.
And bring me two long glasses,
For my daily Rum n Coke.
My last and final smoke.
And bring me two long glasses,
For my daily Rum n Coke.
P.S.> Someone wondered who the rain-main was. As per lore, rainman refers to red-indian shamans, the Rainmakers, in this the Rain Man is someone who got me hooked to Rum and Coke; Puneet. I'm sure, you have your own Rain Man.

Brothers-In-Arms.
All at ease,
All are known.
Empty bottles,
In a full room.
Friendly faces,
Guitar strings.
Someone lost,
In deep conversation.
You are my brothers,
My friends,
The memories,
Will stand by me.
You call me brother,
All my friends,
Their memories,
Will stand by me.
We speak
And laugh.
Behold the dream,
Stand and stare.
Looking through,
A magic glass.
Of where we were,
And where we go.
You are my brothers,
My friends,
The memories,
Will stand by me.
You call me brother,
All my friends,
Their memories,
Will stand by me.
We all sing aloud,
They try to understand us.
Try to make some sense,
What's around,
Where we go,
Who we are,
What we do.
You are my brothers,
My friends,
The memories,
Will stand by me.
You call me brother,
All my friends,
Their memories,
Will stand by me.
P.S.> If this song makes no sense, I understand. I'm slightly drunk, and this song goes out to the people who got me here (this drunken state). My friends, my brothers in arms, my band-mates. This one is to the memories and times we have had and will continue surviving. Thanks.

I Wish You Were Here.
I leave my soul to the wind,
Nothing to care,
No fighting from within.
Digging my feet in the sand,
Contemplate where I am,
And where I stand.
The stars fall to the ground,
Not a protest,
Not even a sound.
The world I have forgot,
No reminders of it near.
No battles to be fought,
I wish you were here.
I look towards the sky,
If I were to go now,
A happy man will die.
Looking at lands edge,
The world stands,
Out on a ledge.
No noises, no human screams,
Just me, the silence,
And the world of dreams.
No one stands within my sight,
For once I believe,
The world is set right.
The world I have forgot,
No reminders of it near.
No battles to be fought,
I wish you were here.
Away from bustling sounds,
And inane conversations.
I've found sacred grounds,
Promise of life is here.
I just wish,
I wish you were here.
This song goes out to her. To everyone who I missed when I was on the sandy beaches and inspiration struck.

Tripping.
I will make the people,
So I wont be alone.
Listen in on silence,
Soon I will be gone.
I will stand with eagles,
Pretend that I can fly.
Make my way back down,
Reaching from the sky.
Does it make.
How much patience,
Will it take.
Oh tell me,
How much difference,
Can I make?
I will stare at sunrise,
Until my eyes go blind.
I wont change myself,
I wont change my mind.
I will fight with reason,
Till my will grows weak.
Finding my solitude,
Salvation I will seek.
How much difference,
Does it make.
How much patience,
Will it take.
Oh tell me,
How much difference,
Can I make?
I will sleep on cold sand,
Drifting in the dreams.
Holding on to one hand,
Shifting in my sleep.
I will stand forever,
Looking for the life.
I will win in this race,
Keep my eyes on the prize.
How much difference,
Does it make.
How much patience,
Will it take.
Oh tell me,
How much difference,
Can I make?
P.S.> This post will get auto uploaded when I will be on some beach in Goa. This song comes out from this. Its fitting in context to my plans of what I will do there.

Revolution.
Breaking free of what we,
Always learned.
Try to rise from what you,
Once were.
Blow the lid of from this,
Blasted world
Kill the problem and try to,
Live and learn.
Break the system,
Turn it on itself.
Be the solution,
Take it on your self.
Revolution,
Won't start by itself.
Revolution.
Take a stand for what you,
Believe in.
Make your world from what you've,
Been given.
Been given.
Try to make some sense of,
Those around you.
Those around you.
Be the change so they will,
Follow you.
Break the system,
Turn it on itself.
Be the solution,
Take it on your self.
Revolution,
Won't start by itself.
Revolution.

Mortality.
There are the angels,
And mortals and demons inside.
The sleepless, the chosen,
And the friends in high times.
We are but leaving,
As the west winds go by.
The end is forever,
Close by.
Is this the time to cry,
When I know its time to fly.
As I know I'm alive,
I know that I'll die.
I choose to know,
And try.
In the end, I will die.
Now where do we go,
From the sorrows inside.
We choose to wait,
As the shadows divide.
Hoping and praying,
In the end we wont cry.
But the end will always,
Show our best side.
Is this the time to cry,
When I know its time to fly.
As I know I'm alive,
I know that I'll die.
I choose to know,
And try.
In the end, I will die.
Its a memory,
Thats left behind.
An image,
Lost, deep in time.
An elegy,
That will help us remind,
That in the end,
We will be joined.
Is this the time to cry,
When I know its time to fly.
As I know I'm alive,
I know that I'll die.
I choose to know,
And try.
In the end, I will die.
P.S.> A wise man once said, Death is not the end, it but the beginning of a new adventure. I for one choose not to fear death, but welcome it should at arrive it my doorstep anytime. We cannot choose when we live or die, but only that we accept it. And that, is what I try.

Worlds Apart.
We try and fail,
To be together.
But everytime,
Its a new story to tell.
We're not the same,
We're hardly similar.
I tried and I'm tired,
Of falling so hard.
I could try,
But I would never know,
I fail to see,
What's in your heart.
What's in your heart.
You and me,
Are so alike,
But we're more than different,
We're Worlds apart.
More than once,
I tried to make it work.
I hoped to win again,
To bend the world.
But now its true,
And I can see,
That what I want from you,
It could never be.
I could try,
But I would never know,
I fail to see,
What's in your heart.
What's in your heart.
You and me,
Are so alike,
But we're more than different,
We're Worlds apart.
So I'm giving up,
And I'm falling down.
I'm gonnna change my heart.
Maybe this time,
Oh, Maybe this time,
I won't try so hard.
(This song goes to her. It goes to you. And it goes to keep me from making the same mistakes all over again.)

Too much, Too young, Too fast.
Living life,
Like its just one day.
Trying to find,
Or we just make our way.
Let us loose,
Upon this world.
The greatest ones,
Who you've never heard.
Too much, too young, too fast,
We were living large,
We had a blast.
Too much, too young, too fast,
We should've known,
It would never last.
Taking this life,
Into our own hands.
Bringing it down,
And no one else can stand.
Getting rich,
And dying young.
Who gives a fuck,
Coz we're having fun.
Too much, too young, too fast,
We were living large,
We had a blast.
Too much, too young, too fast,
We should've known,
It would never last.
We're living it up,
Living it large,
Living too much,
How could it last.
Too much, too young, too fast,
We were living large,
We had a blast.
Too much, too young, too fast,
We should've known,
It would never last.
P.S.> A happy song, A rare song, A heavy song. Live it up like a rock god and don't care what comes next.

Almost famous.
Now look what we’ve become,
My friend can you see,
How far we’ve come.
We were wandering alone,
Like a steady rock,
Not a rolling stone.
We were almost famous,
We were almost there,
We were almost stars,
We were almost famous,
We almost made it big,
Coz we stood apart.
Flying so high,
On things we dont know.
We almost touched the sky,
Slowed down time's flow.
Living it up,
Till we could live no more.
Standing up tall,
Waiting for that encore.
We were almost famous,
We were almost there,
We were almost stars,
We were almost famous,
We almost made it big,
Coz we stood apart.
Look out on the crowd,
Hearing them scream.
Screaming out for us,
It feels like a dream.
We were up on a stage,
We could have been gods.
And the music we made,
My friend can you see,
How far we’ve come.
We were wandering alone,
Like a steady rock,
Not a rolling stone.
We were almost famous,
We were almost there,
We were almost stars,
We were almost famous,
We almost made it big,
Coz we stood apart.
Flying so high,
On things we dont know.
We almost touched the sky,
Slowed down time's flow.
Living it up,
Till we could live no more.
Standing up tall,
Waiting for that encore.
We were almost famous,
We were almost there,
We were almost stars,
We were almost famous,
We almost made it big,
Coz we stood apart.
Look out on the crowd,
Hearing them scream.
Screaming out for us,
It feels like a dream.
We were up on a stage,
We could have been gods.
And the music we made,
Will still live on.
We were almost famous,
We were almost there,
We were almost stars,
We were almost famous,
We almost made it big,
Coz we stood apart.
We were almost famous,
We were almost there,
We were almost stars,
We were almost famous,
We almost made it big,
Coz we stood apart.
P.S.> This happens to be my 51st original song/poem/lyrics. I just noticed that after finishing and tagging the song. Its ironically fitting.
