The desperate attempt.

Your smile is in my head,
Picture it, on my eyes again.
You face will never leave me,
And now there's no hope,
To be free.

But I tried.
To give you what you wanted.
I tried,
Till I fell.
You know I tried,
To work with what was handed.
I tried,
Can't you tell?

Your memories they hold me,
Sighing breaths and smiling days.
Broken dreams of what could be,
And the stolen chance, taken once again,
From me.

But I tried.
To give you what you wanted.
I tried,
Till I fell.
You know I tried,
To work with what was handed.
I tried,
Can't you tell?

Red Carnations and Gin.

I love you now,
It's all that should matter.
Every moment together,
We'll remember somehow.

You know there's something about us,
That no one can see.
And though we may wish it,
We soon will not be.

So I'll raise a toast to our fighting,
And a drink to our laughs.
I'll cheer for our crying,
And I'll dream of our start.
So let me touch a glass,
To your peace of mind.
After me.

You're stronger now,
You will know that so soon.
And soon you'll meet someone,
Who sends you over the moon.

Like you made me feel,
Everyday I held to you.
That's when you will know,
This was the right thing to do.

So I'll raise a toast to our fighting,
And a drink to our laughs.
I'll cheer for our crying,
And I'll dream of our start.
So let me touch a glass,
To your peace of mind.
After me.

It's been years too long,
You've moved on much better.
And now I feel sad,
When we could have had each other.

The greatest regrets,
Are the last to come straight.
When I let you go,
It was my greatest mistake.
But now you're so happy,
And I feel the same.
Though we're not together,
I'm glad that you're content and safe.

So I'll raise a toast to our fighting,
And a drink to our laughs.
I'll cheer for our crying,
And I'll dream of our start.
So let me touch a glass,
To your peace of mind.
After me.

Lovesick fool.

I wish I was a better man to you.
I wish I was a better boy for you.
I wish I wasn't, such a fool.
But you picked me up,
And you tied me down,
And took me back to school.

If you can turn me round,
Away from my disposition,
Of wasting time and lying down,
You can become my new religion.

We're perfectly aligned,
Universally refined.
And a part of me,
Makes it feel like,
I have never been declined.
That's why I...

I wish I was a better man to you.
I wish I was a better boy for you.
I wish I wasn't, such a fool.
But you picked me up,
And you tied me down,
And took me back to school.

They think that you're wasting time,
They think that's enough moonshine.
But you stuck through a year,
And now it seems all clear.
That you, are meant to be mine.

Oh we're correctly designed,
Eternally entwined.
And when you,
Stand with me,
I feel a little more refined.
That's why I...

I wish I was a better man to you.
I wish I was a better boy for you.
I wish I wasn't, such a fool.
But you picked me up,
And you tied me down,
And took me back to school.
You make me cool.

I am free.

It's a crazy thing to see,
The people who only agree.
The shepherds nod is all that they need,
Following is just their breed.

It's such a fleeting thing to me,
This life and all that I can see.
The confusion and all the greed.
Discounted lives to live indeed.

Obey the law,
Learn to drive.
Close your jaw,
Support the hive.
Act normal,
Get a family.
Now repeat after me,
I am free, Oh I am free.

There's people thinking,
In a different stream.
They feel they can leave,
And build a dream.

But the when the herd follows,
They will understand.
The shepherd came with them,
To their greener land.

Obey the law,
Learn to drive.
Close your jaw,
Support the hive.
Act normal,
Get a family.
Now repeat after me,
I am free, Oh I am free.

It's such a weary illusion,
All that we receive.
I have free will today,
That's what I'd like to believe.

Am I just another sheep within,
The strings are bound tightly.
Some choose to listen,
Unlike me, I try to break free.

Obey the law,
Learn to drive.
Close your jaw,
Support the hive.
Follow fashion,
Act normal,
Get a family.
Now repeat after me,
I am free, Oh I am free.

I'll grow another world just for me,
Live by myself and feel free.
A place to visit where peace can be,
I'm already there and here I don't bleed.

Now repeat after me,
I am free, Oh I am free.
I am free, Oh I am free.

The Gilded City.

I see the sign on the highway,
Leading to the city of dread.
All the way down,
To the new south road.
Where old mills they lie condemned.

I travel to the southern shoreline,
Where a million people lay.
Walking down,
The queen's necklace.
Where once children used to play.

When I wonder,
Where is the pity.
And I find a man,
Who can tell.
I know no one,
Knows this city.
Like the old man,
Drinking whisky next to hell.

I see all the ants are running,
As the light shines from the east.
Moving along,
The city's veins.
As they see the belly of the beast.

All the fighters keep on dancing,
They hear the tolling of the bell.
When the clock strikes six,
They will run back home.
Thinking all that is, is what is well.

When I wonder,
Where is the pity.
And I find a man,
Who can tell.
I know no one,
Knows this city.
Like the old man,
Drinking whisky next to hell.

The devils look upon their kingdom,
As they sell the town and all within.
Peeking out,
From their shiny cars.
Bought from selling all types of sin.

As the young babe opens his eyes,
He sees a dead and gilded tree.
So he wonders,
And he dreams about it.
Is beauty here as fake as we see.

When I wonder,
Where is the pity.
And I find a man,
Who can tell.
I know no one,
Knows this city.
Like the old man,
Drinking whisky next to hell.

Gaia

The soil it is wet,
And the floor is dry.
A sheltered empty home,
For rain we did cry.

Trains keep rumbling,
As the time goes by.
Shaking the leaves,
As dust rises high.

Could have spared me some sorrow,
I gave her more than that.
Sold her to the man,
With the suit and the hat.

Someone was helping,
Another man drown.
No witnesses came,
Got away with the crown.

In an empty alley,
The deal was going down.
Sharing the wealth,
Of what was once a green gown.

I did it all myself,
I know at least that.
I sold her to the man,
With the suit and the hat.

What's done is done,
Is what they all say.
Then why do they hide,
When the sky goes grey.

I have no regrets,
Be that as it may.
But don't come crying,
When she hits back one day.

I could have saved her you know,
I owe her just that.
But I sold her to the man,
In the suit and the hat.

P.S.> This song is about Mother Earth.

Phantom Faces.

Fleeting people on speeding tracks,
Chaos rides on the crowded backs.

Someplace to go,
Always some place.
Not a moment to look,
And study a face.

The value of love here is lost,
Sold on the streets at low cost.

No more people,
Just phantoms surround us.
We look at the faces,
Of ghosts all around us.

No one cares for another man's soul,
In this city, you win or get swallowed whole.

Among this madness,
Take a moment to stand still.
Wait for life to catch up,
Don't make time just to kill.

The unknown face is more than you know,
There's a story behind that furrowed brow.

Not everyone's lost,
If you can be that one man.
Look to your left,
And do what you can.

An offer made is worth quite a lot,
Don't just take, once give what you got.

This isn't a song,
To tell you what to do.
This simply is,
A reminder of what you knew.

You think every day that today I'll try,
Then look away when you hear another cry.

I know you want success,
I'm looking for it too.
But somewhere along the way,
I find something more to do.

This city doesn't need another materialistic soul,
We need someone else with another goal.

Money will come,
But humanity will soon go.
Like dust in a storm,
No one will even know.

Help the system,
Take it on yourself.
Be the solution,
It won't fix itself.

But one man is not enough,
To fix all our mess.
And if not with your help,
Then I'll do it by myself.

The Jester.

The kings throw coins,
From their seats of gold.
The clown plays tricks,
Both new and old.

The children play around me,
And laugh out in glee.
The strangers take a look,
And they turn and flee.
The Jester's in the center,
And they're looking at me.
Oh, they're looking at me.

The hysterical fools,
Throughout the land.
Scream out loud,
For the Jesters hand.

The shops down the road,
Sell cures for the soul.
For the right price they say,
We will make you whole.

The clown turns tricks,
For the kings arcade.
The man who I was,
Has now been unmade.

The kings throw coins,
From their seats of gold.
The clown plays tricks,
Both new and old.

The children play around me,
And laugh out in glee.
The strangers take a look,
And they turn and flee.
The Jester's in the center,
And they're looking at me.
Oh, they're looking at me.

The old man gazes,
Through the door of the past.
He turns back and thinks,
When did he laugh last.

He looks through again,
To the days gone by.
The tricks we played,
For the thrones so high.

The kings threw coins,

From their thrones of gold.
What a wasted life he thinks,
Now that we've grown old.

The children used to laugh,
And play around me.
The strangers would look,
They'd turn around and flee,
The Jester in the center,
And they were looking at me.
Why are they still looking at me?
