Red Carnations and Gin.

I love you now,
It's all that should matter.
Every moment together,
We'll remember somehow.

You know there's something about us,
That no one can see.
And though we may wish it,
We soon will not be.

So I'll raise a toast to our fighting,
And a drink to our laughs.
I'll cheer for our crying,
And I'll dream of our start.
So let me touch a glass,
To your peace of mind.
After me.

You're stronger now,
You will know that so soon.
And soon you'll meet someone,
Who sends you over the moon.

Like you made me feel,
Everyday I held to you.
That's when you will know,
This was the right thing to do.

So I'll raise a toast to our fighting,
And a drink to our laughs.
I'll cheer for our crying,
And I'll dream of our start.
So let me touch a glass,
To your peace of mind.
After me.

It's been years too long,
You've moved on much better.
And now I feel sad,
When we could have had each other.

The greatest regrets,
Are the last to come straight.
When I let you go,
It was my greatest mistake.
But now you're so happy,
And I feel the same.
Though we're not together,
I'm glad that you're content and safe.

So I'll raise a toast to our fighting,
And a drink to our laughs.
I'll cheer for our crying,
And I'll dream of our start.
So let me touch a glass,
To your peace of mind.
After me.

Lovesick fool.

I wish I was a better man to you.
I wish I was a better boy for you.
I wish I wasn't, such a fool.
But you picked me up,
And you tied me down,
And took me back to school.

If you can turn me round,
Away from my disposition,
Of wasting time and lying down,
You can become my new religion.

We're perfectly aligned,
Universally refined.
And a part of me,
Makes it feel like,
I have never been declined.
That's why I...

I wish I was a better man to you.
I wish I was a better boy for you.
I wish I wasn't, such a fool.
But you picked me up,
And you tied me down,
And took me back to school.

They think that you're wasting time,
They think that's enough moonshine.
But you stuck through a year,
And now it seems all clear.
That you, are meant to be mine.

Oh we're correctly designed,
Eternally entwined.
And when you,
Stand with me,
I feel a little more refined.
That's why I...

I wish I was a better man to you.
I wish I was a better boy for you.
I wish I wasn't, such a fool.
But you picked me up,
And you tied me down,
And took me back to school.
You make me cool.

I am free.

It's a crazy thing to see,
The people who only agree.
The shepherds nod is all that they need,
Following is just their breed.

It's such a fleeting thing to me,
This life and all that I can see.
The confusion and all the greed.
Discounted lives to live indeed.

Obey the law,
Learn to drive.
Close your jaw,
Support the hive.
Act normal,
Get a family.
Now repeat after me,
I am free, Oh I am free.

There's people thinking,
In a different stream.
They feel they can leave,
And build a dream.

But the when the herd follows,
They will understand.
The shepherd came with them,
To their greener land.

Obey the law,
Learn to drive.
Close your jaw,
Support the hive.
Act normal,
Get a family.
Now repeat after me,
I am free, Oh I am free.

It's such a weary illusion,
All that we receive.
I have free will today,
That's what I'd like to believe.

Am I just another sheep within,
The strings are bound tightly.
Some choose to listen,
Unlike me, I try to break free.

Obey the law,
Learn to drive.
Close your jaw,
Support the hive.
Follow fashion,
Act normal,
Get a family.
Now repeat after me,
I am free, Oh I am free.

I'll grow another world just for me,
Live by myself and feel free.
A place to visit where peace can be,
I'm already there and here I don't bleed.

Now repeat after me,
I am free, Oh I am free.
I am free, Oh I am free.

The Gilded City.

I see the sign on the highway,
Leading to the city of dread.
All the way down,
To the new south road.
Where old mills they lie condemned.

I travel to the southern shoreline,
Where a million people lay.
Walking down,
The queen's necklace.
Where once children used to play.

When I wonder,
Where is the pity.
And I find a man,
Who can tell.
I know no one,
Knows this city.
Like the old man,
Drinking whisky next to hell.

I see all the ants are running,
As the light shines from the east.
Moving along,
The city's veins.
As they see the belly of the beast.

All the fighters keep on dancing,
They hear the tolling of the bell.
When the clock strikes six,
They will run back home.
Thinking all that is, is what is well.

When I wonder,
Where is the pity.
And I find a man,
Who can tell.
I know no one,
Knows this city.
Like the old man,
Drinking whisky next to hell.

The devils look upon their kingdom,
As they sell the town and all within.
Peeking out,
From their shiny cars.
Bought from selling all types of sin.

As the young babe opens his eyes,
He sees a dead and gilded tree.
So he wonders,
And he dreams about it.
Is beauty here as fake as we see.

When I wonder,
Where is the pity.
And I find a man,
Who can tell.
I know no one,
Knows this city.
Like the old man,
Drinking whisky next to hell.

Gaia

The soil it is wet,
And the floor is dry.
A sheltered empty home,
For rain we did cry.

Trains keep rumbling,
As the time goes by.
Shaking the leaves,
As dust rises high.

Could have spared me some sorrow,
I gave her more than that.
Sold her to the man,
With the suit and the hat.

Someone was helping,
Another man drown.
No witnesses came,
Got away with the crown.

In an empty alley,
The deal was going down.
Sharing the wealth,
Of what was once a green gown.

I did it all myself,
I know at least that.
I sold her to the man,
With the suit and the hat.

What's done is done,
Is what they all say.
Then why do they hide,
When the sky goes grey.

I have no regrets,
Be that as it may.
But don't come crying,
When she hits back one day.

I could have saved her you know,
I owe her just that.
But I sold her to the man,
In the suit and the hat.

P.S.> This song is about Mother Earth.

Phantom Faces.

Fleeting people on speeding tracks,
Chaos rides on the crowded backs.

Someplace to go,
Always some place.
Not a moment to look,
And study a face.

The value of love here is lost,
Sold on the streets at low cost.

No more people,
Just phantoms surround us.
We look at the faces,
Of ghosts all around us.

No one cares for another man's soul,
In this city, you win or get swallowed whole.

Among this madness,
Take a moment to stand still.
Wait for life to catch up,
Don't make time just to kill.

The unknown face is more than you know,
There's a story behind that furrowed brow.

Not everyone's lost,
If you can be that one man.
Look to your left,
And do what you can.

An offer made is worth quite a lot,
Don't just take, once give what you got.

This isn't a song,
To tell you what to do.
This simply is,
A reminder of what you knew.

You think every day that today I'll try,
Then look away when you hear another cry.

I know you want success,
I'm looking for it too.
But somewhere along the way,
I find something more to do.

This city doesn't need another materialistic soul,
We need someone else with another goal.

Money will come,
But humanity will soon go.
Like dust in a storm,
No one will even know.

Help the system,
Take it on yourself.
Be the solution,
It won't fix itself.

But one man is not enough,
To fix all our mess.
And if not with your help,
Then I'll do it by myself.

The Jester.

The kings throw coins,
From their seats of gold.
The clown plays tricks,
Both new and old.

The children play around me,
And laugh out in glee.
The strangers take a look,
And they turn and flee.
The Jester's in the center,
And they're looking at me.
Oh, they're looking at me.

The hysterical fools,
Throughout the land.
Scream out loud,
For the Jesters hand.

The shops down the road,
Sell cures for the soul.
For the right price they say,
We will make you whole.

The clown turns tricks,
For the kings arcade.
The man who I was,
Has now been unmade.

The kings throw coins,
From their seats of gold.
The clown plays tricks,
Both new and old.

The children play around me,
And laugh out in glee.
The strangers take a look,
And they turn and flee.
The Jester's in the center,
And they're looking at me.
Oh, they're looking at me.

The old man gazes,
Through the door of the past.
He turns back and thinks,
When did he laugh last.

He looks through again,
To the days gone by.
The tricks we played,
For the thrones so high.

The kings threw coins,

From their thrones of gold.
What a wasted life he thinks,
Now that we've grown old.

The children used to laugh,
And play around me.
The strangers would look,
They'd turn around and flee,
The Jester in the center,
And they were looking at me.
Why are they still looking at me?

The Book of Life

I turn back to the pages,
Of my youth and wonder.
Look back on the days,
That have gone by.

Let a ready man read,
While the book is in my hand.
Let him take a stand.

I wish to see,
My younger days.
Spent in rain,
And sunshine rays.
When the melody was sweet,
Like the smell of my old street.

Reminded me of days of lost wonder,
The book of my life,
And the writings of leisure.
The movie plays in the land of the blind.
Now pause and please rewind.

Give me back my naiveté,
I wish to learn again.
My ship is drifting,
Without a sail.

Let the child inside me live,
While I can make a stand.
Lend me a hand.

I want to learn,
From my mistakes.
Learn to give,
And when to take.
When to rise up above,
From the sound on that playground.

Reminded me of days of lost wonder,
The book of my life,
And the writings of leisure.
The movie plays in the land of the blind.
Now pause and please rewind.

Remember days of paper ships,
Like dreams that float and flip.
A time of boundless love,
Beyond the sky up above.
Chasing cars down the street,
And happy sounds of growing feet.

Reminded me of days of lost wonder,
The book of my life,
And the writings of leisure.
The movie plays in the land of the blind.
Now pause and please rewind.

A King. A Fool.

Come to this sight,
Don't ride alone.
Suffer the demons,
On the cold and guarded throne.

Come to this life,
Your only hope.
Try to escape,
This downward deadly slope.

Creating, destroying,
All your life,
Saw you divided by your pride.
Sold and provided,
All your life,
You are invited by your dark side.

Come in this night,
The day grows dark.
Carry your burden,
And I'll ease your weary heart.

Come where I am,
My spirit floats.
Serenity is here,
A slowly sailing boat.

Creating, destroying,
All your life,
Saw you divided by your pride.
Sold and provided,
All your life,
You are invited by your dark side.

The Levee edge

She will be there,
And her voice is calling me.

She can see,
I'll leave it again for her.

And I see her,
Like a vision in a scary haze.

When I hold her,
I won't leave her again.

Oh... When I'll be there,
On the levee's edge,
Then I'll say,
That I leave it today.
When I'll be there,
On the levee's edge,
I will know,
My way back again.

Once I saw her,
Through the doorway at the end.

Then I knew,
The time to meet, comes again.

And I reach out,
To the broken windowpane.

And I step on,
As the levee breaks.

Oh... When I'll be there,
On the levee's edge,
Then I'll say,
That I leave it today.
When I'll be there,
On the levee's edge,
I will know,
My way back again.

Questions

I just lie here,
And close my weary eyes.
The smoke fills my mind,
And I gain a secret high.

The wheels of fortune,
Creak and spin again.
The merchant beckons,
Selling cures of unknown pains.

Where do I go?
When I've lost the way.
Why should I fight?
What do I have to say?
How will I win?
Where does it begin?
Who was the man who died?

Power and vision,
Slowly cloud my sight.
Building up to something,
Following my inner light.

The mind is swaying,
My feet can touch the sky.
Smoke is so much stronger,
Forever takes me high.

Where do I go?
When I've lost the way.
Why should I fight?
What do I have to say?
How will I win?
Where does it begin?
Who was the man who died?

Protected from within,
Defended by my lies.
I've found life,
In my mind so close by.
Let me show you serenity,
Living, changing,
Where life goes by.

The Muse

The wind in her hair,
And a devil in her eye.
The sand at her feet,
Her lips a silent sigh.

The horizon sets,
As the night sky breaks.
She runs so free,
The wave erases her wake.

Words unspoken,
Linger on gentle lips.
A moment unbroken,
Into dreams I slip.

An innocent victim,
To her unwavering gaze.
Her face smiles through,
Across the smoke haze.

She calls out the words,
A poem without warning.
She speaks of today,
And tomorrow morning.

She says find love,
Before the world forgets.
Step forward right now,
Let go of past regrets.

The moment to live,
Is upon us now.
Enough of a life,
Learn to be alive somehow.

The world falls silent,
As the shadows collide.
The sea breeze moves,
And the night sky divides.

The break of dawn,
A breath of cool air.
Forever I am lost,
I care not where.

Better Things.

On what whims,
The world spins,
Who dies;
And who lives.

How evil love can be,
If someone holds me,
But I can't feel it.
Forever the feelings faked.

But, I'm sure of,
You're ability,
To love me truly.
Which makes me,
My own fallacy.

Just hold me,
Embrace me,
Don't say that,
You love me.
Coz one day,
We will walk away and say,
Things are better ending this way.

I need to know,
Why we're here,
Standing;
In this moment.

Just a weak reflection,
Of what this is,
And what it could be.

But its my life,
And my ability,
To love her truly.
Which makes you,
A twisted enemy.

Just hold me,
Embrace me,
Don't say that,
You love me.
Coz one day,
We will walk away and say,
Things are better ending this way.

Here comes the Shadow.

When war and peace,
Is left to the lord.
And everyone's God,
Is Evil.

Businessmen and lawyers,
Lead the common man.
Where money,
Is the way of speaking.

Leaders and robbers,
Walk hand in hand.
When crime,
Is always paying.

The suit and the chains,
Together align.
And the jail cells,
Are overflowing.

Here comes the shadow,
That we made with our hands,
The sun will soon be fading.
Here comes the shadow,
To cleanse our land,
The time has come for repenting.

We scream in silence,
And whisper in crowds.
Knowledge gained,
From overhearing.

Teacher and preacher,
Guide all to abhor.
And nature itself,
Is weeping.

All that we have,
Is not what we adore.
The world itself,
Seems lacking.

The love that we send,
In a life that will end.
So many lessons,
Are left for learning.

Here comes the shadow,
That we made with our hands,
The sun will soon be fading.
Here comes the shadow,
To cleanse our land,
The time has come for repenting.

Generation of waste,
And life of excess.
And somewhere,
A child is crying.

All that we spend,
And yet we want more.
Deep inside,
We're dying.

Life is to live,
Not meant to destroy.
What was made,
We will be losing.

A new day will dawn,
For our daughters and sons.
A new chance,
For some repairing.

Here comes the shadow,
That we made with our hands,
The sun will soon be fading.
Here comes the shadow,
To cleanse our land,
The time has come for repenting.

New year, New start.

The sun has faded,
It indicated.
The day will end,
And sun will rise,
For another dawn.

Feeling jaded,
Alienated.
Moving back and forth,
Looking for,
A greener lawn.

I don't know,
What I will find.
Leave what I was,
Behind.
Search for,
Peace of mind.
Leave it all,
Behind.

Hold a prayer,
In my favor.
I'm going to,
A lonely place,
Just to find myself again.

Wave goodbye now,
Flying high now.
The rising day,
Will light my way,
In this heavy falling rain.

I don't know,
What I will find.
Leave what I was,
Behind.
Search for,
Peace of mind.
Leave it all,
Behind.

Close the book now,
Take a look now.
Everything falls in place,
You can see it on my face.

I will be famous,
Victorious.
Standing on ashen will of,
The people who wished me ill.

I don't know,
What I will find.
Leave what I was,
Behind.
Search for,
Peace of mind.
Leave it all,
Behind.

I've made it there now,
I have no fear now.
I can turn around,
And look at them,
Show them what they could've been.
